Position Overview

The Civic Engagement Field Representative will execute Action for the Climate Emergency's nonpartisan civic engagement initiatives in targeted regions. Responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to: direct voter outreach, managing and strategizing turf assignments, utilizing data and digital platforms, relational organizing, voter registration efforts, and in-state communications through various channels. This role also involves overseeing a team of canvassers focused on voter registration and outreach activities.

In this capacity, the Representative will contribute to enhancing Action for the Climate Emergency's influence in advocating for the cessation of fossil fuel dependency, promoting a swift and equitable transition to renewable energy, and fostering increased youth involvement in democratic processes. This includes empowering young individuals to advocate for climate justice and uphold voting rights and civic engagement.

The Representative must be prepared for regular travel within the designated regions to engage in fieldwork, events, and other related activities. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engage in field-based civic activities aimed at boosting youth participation in democracy, particularly in the local community. This may involve:
    • Voter registration and education initiatives
    • Relational organizing efforts
    • Coordinating turf management with partners
    • Data management and digital tool utilization
    • Conducting both in-person and digital voter outreach
    • Supporting young volunteers in direct voter engagement

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in civic engagement field organizing and leading voter outreach initiatives
  • Background in advocacy, youth engagement, or youth development, ideally with a focus on climate or social justice
  • Strong analytical abilities with a knack for prioritizing tasks, working independently, and meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills and creativity
