Peraton is seeking a Senior Sensor Operations Systems Engineer to contribute to our Cyber Mission sector. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting a significant enterprise-level engineering initiative within the Intelligence Community. This position is full-time, requiring a commitment of 1880 hours annually, with responsibilities conducted at a designated customer site.
Key Responsibilities
As a Sensor Operations Systems Engineer, your duties will include:
- Providing comprehensive systems engineering, program planning, and mission management support to the SIGINT sensor operations division.
- Drafting Concept of Operations documents, creating task schedules, and developing other essential program documentation for engineers and integrators.
- Monitoring project status and reporting findings to ensure successful project execution throughout its lifecycle.
- Gathering and analyzing project requirements from stakeholders, offering technical and programmatic evaluations of proposed initiatives.
- Investigating emerging technologies and collaborating with vendors to deliver informed recommendations to the government.
- Facilitating the transition of legacy systems to a unified sensor and data operations framework, ensuring all system requirements are recognized and integrated.
- Maintaining awareness of related sensor initiatives across the organization to identify commonalities and enhance program efficiency.
- Providing management, support, and technical guidance regarding project procurement, integration, sustainment, and testing of systems.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field with at least 20 years of general systems engineering experience; or a Master's degree/PhD with a minimum of 18 years; or a high school diploma with at least 24 years of experience.
- Ability to translate high-level requirements into functional specifications for systems solutions while considering technical, scheduling, and budgetary constraints.
- Experience in managing the planning and deployment of SIGINT systems in collaboration with government partners.
- Proven capability in technical planning, systems integration, data verification, and risk analysis for newly integrated systems.
- Familiarity with SIGINT sensor systems and collection methodologies.
- Must possess TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Proven track record of overcoming technical and organizational challenges to achieve mission objectives.
- Experience with tactical SIGINT, particularly in relation to UAV payloads.
- Background in program transition and decommissioning planning.
- Practical experience in managing program and technical aspects of multiple ongoing SIGINT projects.
- Ability to collaborate with peer organizations and represent projects effectively to external stakeholders.
- Strong advocacy skills for customer positions while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in facilitating collaboration to overcome challenges and create shared solutions.
- Knowledge of System Security Accreditation processes and standards.
- Experience in hardware/software development, particularly in communications systems.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and a team-oriented mindset.
