About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our operations in Cumberland County, NJ. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality programs in accordance with our mission statement, state regulations, and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with state licensing and reporting standards.
  • Develop and implement an advisory board to assist in expanding resources and improving service delivery.
  • Assess operational issues and develop comprehensive solutions to maintain a high-quality program.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Identify and pursue grant and funding opportunities to support organizational growth.
  • Promote a positive public image of Community Options and our mission through effective communication and outreach.
  • Develop, implement, and supervise office procedures, programs, and services.
  • Recommend sound personnel practices in employee recruitment, evaluations, compensation, and terminations.
  • Partner with Human Resources to address personnel and performance issues.
  • Conduct programmatic investigations and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate management, financial, and personnel controls, and provide necessary documentation and paperwork.
  • Prepare required statistical, financial, and service reports as needed.
  • Interface with local, state, and governmental agencies to ensure compliance and collaboration.
  • Participate in developing long-term and short-term department goals, objectives, and systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with five years of related experience in administrative and supervisory roles; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines.
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities.
  • Understanding of funding sources and entitlement programs for people with disabilities.
  • Ability to partner across internal and external stakeholders, government officials, and industry associations.
  • Confident public speaking skills at events, conferences, and other forums.
  • Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Ability to effectively present facts and recommendations verbally and in written form.
  • Experience with problem-solving against multiple priorities.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent local travel is required utilizing your own vehicle or company-provided vehicles.
  • May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff.
  • Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be required.
  • May be required to lift or move 25+ pounds.
  • May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases.
