About the Role

TrustPoint Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Business Office Financial Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial documentation, billing, and collections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Insurance Verification and Billing: Audit admission packets and verify patient demographic information in the patient accounting system.
  • Financial Counseling and Collections: Provide financial counseling to patients and/or guarantors, collecting out-of-pocket expenses and explaining benefits and financial obligations.
  • Financial Disclosure and Adjustments: Complete financial disclosure paperwork, verify income and expenses, and process charity or administrative adjustments.
  • Promissory Notes and Upfront Collections: Create promissory notes for payment arrangements and update daily collection logs.
  • Data Analysis and Strategic Planning: Gather and interpret data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategic steps to increase payment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; three or more years' experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Extensive knowledge of commercial insurance and Medicare/Medicaid.
