Position Overview:

The Logistics Manager will play a crucial role in orchestrating logistics operations to guarantee the prompt and precise delivery of shipments during both disaster missions and routine operations. This position will primarily focus on the implementation of shipping and logistics activities, ensuring meticulous record-keeping, and managing a diverse portfolio of shipping contacts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability to shifting priorities and possess a keen attention to detail, as well as a solid understanding of logistics principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and arrange shipments to ensure the timely distribution of humanitarian supplies.
  • Engage and negotiate with logistics providers to secure swift and cost-efficient transportation solutions.
  • Prepare and amend shipping documentation with urgency and precision.
  • Ensure compliance of all shipping documents with applicable regulations and organizational standards.
  • Adhere to internal procedures and update databases for accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all logistics activities to ensure accountability and traceability.
  • Develop and sustain a robust network of service providers and foster relationships with various logistics partners.
  • Execute logistics tasks as directed, ensuring adherence to organizational protocols.
  • Address logistical challenges promptly and resolve issues effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in logistics management.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipping processes, documentation, and regulations across all modes of logistics (air, sea, road, and rail).
  • Experience in humanitarian aid, non-profit, or volunteer services is advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to areas affected by disasters is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Excel, ERPs, TMSs, or any supply chain software is desirable.
