Position Overview:

The Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Design Readiness will play a pivotal role within the R&D division, contributing significantly to the development of an innovative robotic platform aimed at transforming healthcare. This position demands a highly skilled technical expert focused on the transition of electrical components and assemblies from prototype stages to verification and clinical testing, collaborating closely with manufacturing engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a vital team member in ensuring the electrical components of a robotic system are ready for design.
  • Assist in the formulation of assembly and testing processes for electrical components and assemblies.
  • Contribute to the identification and specification of in-line testing and build fixtures for electrical components.
  • Support the development and upkeep of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Device Master Record (DMR).
  • Engage in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electromechanical subsystems, employing robust methodologies and thorough documentation.
  • Define requirements for electrical, firmware, and software development related to testing and assembly fixtures.
  • Generate essential documentation including build processes, assembly instructions, inspection protocols, and test reports.
  • Participate in various multi-disciplinary technical and process enhancement projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements for design factors such as reliability, testability, and manufacturability.
  • Assist in the creation of Design History Files (DHF) and ensure the release of documentation aligns with quality systems.
  • Manage and communicate project progress in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electromechanical R&D engineering, with at least 5 years in the medical device sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in designing and developing PCBA test fixtures and associated testing processes.
  • Proficient in both analog and digital circuit design.
  • Strong skills in circuit analysis and troubleshooting of electronic systems.
  • Experience in design for testing and manufacturability.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and design control for medical devices.
  • Hands-on experience with standard electrical testing equipment and PCB rework.
  • Desirable: Experience in developing test applications or firmware using MATLAB Simulink.
