Position Summary for Hydro-Vac Truck Operator:

The Hydro-Vac Truck Operator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of a hydro-vac truck, which is outfitted with a tank body designed for the excavation, transportation, and disposal of loose and/or wet materials. This role also includes performing essential labor functions to support the Utility Construction Crew.

Qualifications for Hydro-Vac Truck Operator:

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of experience.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction general labor.
  • Capable of following detailed instructions and making informed recommendations to execute a variety of tasks, while adhering to precise standards of accuracy and making decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement, along with a solid understanding of commercial driving regulations and roadways.
  • Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods, utilize hands and arms for reaching, handling, and manipulating objects, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds, and perform tasks that require stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Good vision, either naturally or with correction, is essential.
  • Ability to successfully complete written tasks and Operator Qualification tests as required.
  • OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or the ability to obtain it during the pre-employment process (training provided by the company).
  • Capability to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must maintain a valid unrestricted Driver's License.
