- Lead accountability for safety and quality guidelines, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Work closely with the production supervisor to drive performance and motivate the team.
- Monitor and decision-making for schedule attainment, ensuring timely completion of production tasks.
- Coordinate break relief for team members and provide support when needed.
- Ensure proper paperwork and charting are available for associates on shift.
- Coordinate staffing requirements for each shift, including PTO and call-ins.
- Work with other team leads and departments to coordinate production plans and ensure smooth operations.
- Lead shift handover meetings to communicate company announcements and shift goals.
- Complete shift reports and communicate wins and opportunities to relevant business partners.
- Coach and mentor production team members to improve performance and skills.
- Ensure required paperwork is completed for pre and post-shift activities.
- Communicate plant downtime issues with maintenance and other relevant departments.
- Ensure team members follow GMP/QA, sanitation, and procedures.
- Monitor quality and food safety control points and make corrective actions.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and basic mathematical functions.
- Basic computer skills, including email and Traksys.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel for 12 hours, and lift up to 50 pounds.
The production operations manager will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts and exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level will be moderate to high.
