HITT Contracting, Inc. is a leading national general contractor seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Intern to join our award-winning HITT Futures Program. As a member of our team, you will gain hands-on experience in construction management, working alongside industry leaders and professionals who are passionate about building trust with clients, partners, and teammates.

Responsibilities:
  • Support project management teams with subcontractor and supplier coordination, material tracking, and file management
  • Assist with progress updates and reporting for client review
  • Aid in document control processes, including drafting submittals, RFIs, and change orders
  • Assist in preparing bid packages and evaluating subcontractor bids
  • Conduct preconstruction procedures, reviewing proposals, specifications, and drawings, and executing material takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with onsite superintendents and field-based teams to assist with project layout, construction drawing, trade coordination, and quality control inspections
  • Participate in social and networking events, weekly training and educational classes, and HITT corporate responsibility activities
Qualifications:
  • Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in construction, engineering, or business
  • Previous industry internship, volunteer work, or work experience is a plus
  • Passion for the construction and general contracting industry
  • Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to learn project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office 365 and Procore
  • Exceptional customer and client focus with ability to succeed in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
