Join Meritage Homes as a Construction Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Construction Intern. As a Construction Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our internal business leaders to learn the homebuilding industry, Meritage's business model, and an assigned functional area such as construction, land, marketing, operations, purchasing, finance, human resources, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of construction projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in business development initiatives to identify new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, subcontractors, and city inspectors
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program from a regionally accredited university or college
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Basic knowledge of construction processes and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a team environment on cross-functional projects
  • Experience dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Experience in a leadership capacity or role and influencing peers
