Position Summary: The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee the month-end closing procedures and provide comprehensive financial analysis of operations. This role includes the preparation of interim and final financial statements along with supporting schedules to guide management decisions. A key responsibility is ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards while maintaining a robust internal control framework.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the monthly closing activities, including the preparation and approval of journal entries for the designated business unit.
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Analyze accounting data to produce detailed financial reports and statements.
- Prepare or validate reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and conduct variance analyses.
- Generate monthly financial statements and other reports for the financial package at month-end.
- Guarantee timely and precise financial reporting for the business unit.
- Oversee payroll analysis and accounting functions for the business unit.
- Maintain Fixed Asset records, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions and related depreciation.
- Adhere to established accounting policies and procedures, participating in their revision or development as necessary.
- Produce daily cash and periodic management reports.
- Reconcile all bank accounts monthly, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation for the year-end audit and support other finance-related projects, including process improvement initiatives.
- Handle ad hoc requests as needed.
- Drive improvements in systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions where required.
This position includes supervisory responsibilities.

- Proficient in PC skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, email, internet, and accounting software.
- Able to work independently while maintaining professionalism.
- Team-oriented with outstanding customer service skills.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Certification: CPA required.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant general accounting and payroll experience, with a background in public accounting and strong internal controls.
Familiarity with Great Plains Software is preferred, along with experience in system implementations or upgrades.
