  • Oversee the implementation of meal programs at the educational institution.
  • Engage in the preparation and distribution of meals to students and staff.

  • Promote the Food and Nutrition Services program within the school community.
  • Document daily operations, including production and temperature logs, invoices, and financial records.
  • Coordinate daily tasks and schedules for staff members.
  • Perform various food service duties while adhering to health regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to recipes and safety protocols.
  • Manage inventory and procure necessary supplies.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA and state nutrition regulations.
  • Utilize timekeeping systems for accurate payroll management.
  • Collect and manage staff leave documentation.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the food service sector.
Certifications:
  • Current SERV-SAFE Sanitation Certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in point-of-sale systems and financial procedures.
  • Ability to reconcile sales with inventory records.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety practices.
  • Experience in large-scale food preparation and waste management.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to regular attendance and adherence to hygiene standards.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • Work in varying temperature conditions typical of commercial kitchens.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for handling kitchen equipment and technology.

Work Environment:
  • Exposure to loud noises typical of food preparation settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a school food service environment.
  • Familiarity with the policies and programs of Frederick County Public Schools.
