Business Analyst Job Description

The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions at Authorium, driving the success of our projects.

This role involves working closely with Solution Engineers and Project Managers to ensure seamless onboarding of Authorium customers, leveraging deep relationships with clients to understand and document their processes, and identifying areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document as-is business requirements, conducting interviews, workshops, and analyzing existing documentation.
  • Analysis and Documentation: Analyze collected data to identify patterns, trends, and potential areas for improvement, documenting and communicating business processes, workflows, system requirements, and pain points.
  • Data Analysis: Provide insights and support decision-making processes by analyzing data, creating reports, dashboards, and conducting data modeling.
  • Solution Assessment and Validation: Evaluate proposed solutions to ensure they meet business requirements, validating that implemented solutions align with initially defined objectives.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between business stakeholders, implementation team, and product team, ensuring all parties have a clear understanding of requirements and project goals.
  • Change Management: Support the implementation of changes by providing documentation, training, and communication to affected stakeholders, helping manage the transition to new processes or systems.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address issues and challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle, proposing effective solutions to ensure project success.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of deliverables by conducting testing and validation activities, collaborating with testing teams to ensure developed solutions meet business requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to existing business processes and systems, staying informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their needs and priorities to align business strategies with technology solutions.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in business analysis or a similar role.
  • Strategic and creative problem-solving, with a demonstrated ability to get to the 'why' of every technical requirement, combined with strong decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in process modeling or diagramming software and tools, such as Lucidchart or Miro.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as JIRA or Asana.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration or engineering.
  • Deep experience serving public sector customers with software solutions.
  • Knowledge of government procurement, contracting, grants administration, or vendor management.
  • Experience in SaaS or Enterprise Software.
  • Certifications, such as Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
