About the Role

HCA Florida Northwest Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist NICU to join our team. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist NICU, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Cite indications, contraindications, risks, and benefits for venoarterial and venovenous ECMO support.
  • Prepare and operate clinical equipment and circuitry per ECMO policies/procedures.

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Associate Degree.
