Role Overview:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will leverage your expertise to design and develop systems and products tailored for the semiconductor industry. Your role will involve applying engineering principles and research data to create innovative designs that meet product specifications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct engineering calculations related to structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics.
  • Create and modify CAD models and detailed drawings using Creo Parametric, addressing a range of complexities from simple components to intricate assemblies.
  • Assess the feasibility of product proposals, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop new designs while adhering to safety criteria.
  • Utilize statistical methods to optimize designs and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation for both prototype and production products, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Manage engineering project plans, including scheduling and resource allocation, while maintaining effective communication across departments.
  • Engage in design reviews for customer-specific projects and product enhancements.
  • Travel to customer and supplier sites to facilitate technical discussions and collaborations.
  • Support marketing and vendors in estimating costs for non-standard options and new features.
  • Assist in the development, installation, and testing of hardware to validate performance.
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure smooth transitions of new products into manufacturing.
  • Evaluate engineering change requests and manage the associated documentation.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Ph.D. is highly preferred. For experienced candidates, a minimum of 10 years of experience with a BS or 5 years with an MS is required, with a focus on the engineering and development of complex mechanical systems.


Essential Skills:
  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment is essential.
  • Knowledge of ALD deposition processes is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CE, NFPA, and Semi S2-95 standards as they pertain to semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Understanding of materials including metals, plastics, and surface finishes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, CREO, and AutoCAD.
  • Expertise in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5 and/or ISO 1101:2017.
  • Adept at working collaboratively within diverse teams to meet project specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a critical thinking mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present concepts effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a team-oriented approach.
