Work Schedule
To promote optimal patient care and a supportive work atmosphere, 50% of working hours should fall between 3 PM and 7 AM, including at least 16 weekend hours within a 6-week period.

Any adjustments to this requirement will be determined by the Nursing Operations Administrator or Service Line Nursing Director.

Position Overview
The Assistant Patient Care Manager (A-PCM) plays a vital role in supporting the Patient Care Manager (PCM) in overseeing nursing staff beyond the standard operational limits.

The A-PCM will provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for nursing personnel while assisting in the daily administration of the nursing unit(s).

The role includes responsibilities such as scheduling, payroll oversight, staff competency monitoring, performance evaluations, and special assignments from the PCM.

Additionally, the A-PCM may supervise clerical staff as necessary within the designated unit(s). Enhanced supervision and mentorship are linked to reduced staff turnover and improved patient care outcomes.

Essential Skills and Knowledge
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification along with unit-specific competencies such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.

Strong communication, delegation, and customer service skills are essential. Does this position involve supervisory duties? Yes.

Preferred Qualifications
3-4 years of clinical experience is preferred.
