Job Summary

A Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse with advanced education and expertise in a specific area of nursing practice. They are responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading nursing teams, and advancing the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost-effective patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, develop differential diagnoses, and implement treatment plans for patients with complex health needs.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate patient-specific and population-based programs to improve health outcomes.
  • Lead nursing teams and provide guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to advance the practice of nursing and improve patient outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in nursing to ensure the highest level of care for patients.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist required within 1 year of employment.
  • Expertise in a specialty area and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Licensure to practice nursing in Wisconsin.
