Job Overview:
The Clinical Transplant Specialist plays a pivotal role in the comprehensive clinical management and coordination of care for adult patients who have undergone kidney, pancreas, and liver transplants. This position requires effective collaboration with various healthcare disciplines to ensure seamless patient services throughout their care journey. Exceptional customer service skills are essential for success in this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in acute care or dialysis settings is mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Nephrology or Transplant sub-specialties.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:An Associate's degree in Nursing along with at least 10 years of relevant experience is required, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience is necessary. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:Strong analytical abilities are essential for developing and implementing effective nursing care plans and addressing challenges related to patients' mental and physical health. The capacity to maintain focus and attention to detail for up to eighty percent of the work time is crucial while planning and executing professional nursing care, resolving patient care issues, and interacting with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals, often in high-pressure situations.
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:A current Registered Nurse License from the state of Wisconsin or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is also necessary. Preferred certifications include Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC), Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN), or Acute/Critical Care Nurse (CCRN).
