Job Overview

The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the kitchen's hygiene and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, this part-time position is classified as Non-Exempt and is essential for the smooth operation of our culinary services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dishwashing: Ensure a continuous supply of clean kitchenware, including smallwares, pots, and pans.
  • Load Management: Prioritize and manage various types of crockery and kitchenware, including hand-washing, loading the dishwasher, and organizing dishes for drying.
  • Cleanliness Standards: Adhere to established operating procedures and guidelines to maintain a clean kitchen environment.
  • Event Support: Assist in staffing the kitchen during special events and observances as required.
  • Food Preparation Assistance: Support the Chef with light food preparation tasks, including labeling and storing ingredients.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Chef.
  • Certification Maintenance: Keep the Registered Food Handler's certificate up to date.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a food service or kitchen environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry items while walking.
  • Endurance: Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Attitude: Must demonstrate a positive and energetic demeanor.
  • Team Player: Reliable and dependable, with a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Willingness to Learn: Open to receiving direction and feedback.
