Overview

As a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist, you will deliver age-appropriate pharmaceutical care and essential clinical services tailored to designated patient care sectors. You will play a vital role in achieving departmental objectives, quality assurance, performance improvement, and various initiatives within the healthcare facility. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees medication orders with a focus on age-specific requirements to guarantee medication safety (including processing, preparation, and dispensing).
  • Engages in the development of pharmacotherapeutic plans.
  • Effectively manages personal pharmacy practice.
  • Leads and guides members of the healthcare team.
  • Prepares and processes sterile products for distribution.
  • Contributes to departmental goals, programs, and performance metrics.
  • Offers drug-related information.
  • Delivers educational sessions.
  • Actively participates in interdepartmental and intradepartmental committees.
  • Enhances safety and efficiency through the strategic use of automation.
  • Achieves assigned objectives.
Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).

Experience

Preferred: Minimum of one year in a hospital pharmacy setting.

Licensure and Certification

Required: Valid Pharmacist license for the appropriate state.

Skills

Preferred: Proficiency in advanced computer order entry, Microsoft Office applications, and clinical experience. Strong cognitive skills to interpret and comprehend written medication orders and reference materials.

Required: Basic computer skills and effective communication abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy in interpreting written medication orders and reference materials are essential.

Training

Preferred: BLS and/or ACLS certification, advanced postgraduate training, or equivalent clinical experience.
