Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Support:
    • Review and rectify timesheet discrepancies related to payroll and compliance (e.g., overtime, meal breaks).
    • Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings.
    • Conduct regular audits of payroll processes and records.
    • Record payroll journal entries in accounting software.
    • Update and reconcile all employee-related payroll deductions (garnishments, tax levies, child support orders).
    • Address payroll inquiries from external parties.
    • Resolve payroll-related issues promptly and professionally.
    • Oversee the semi-monthly payroll process, including tax payments and retirement contributions.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze compensation-related data, including wages and bonuses.
  • Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Support: Assist in managing AR/AP functions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all compensation, payroll, and tax regulations.
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain daily and monthly transactional records in accordance with GAAP.
  • General Ledger Management: Review and maintain the General Ledger.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial schedules and reports as required.
  • Month-End Closing: Manage the month-end closing process and information returns (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
  • Year-End Processes: Assist with year-end compilation, review, or audit tasks as necessary.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, ensuring accurate payroll deductions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in payroll software.
  • Familiarity with Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and accountable, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Deltek software.
