Job Title: Bilingual Education Assistant

Child Parent Institute is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Bilingual Education Assistant to join our team. As a Bilingual Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting education staff at New Directions Non-Public School (NPS) in the instruction, supervision, and training of individuals or groups of students aged 12-22 from school districts serving the entire North Bay region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide bilingual support to education staff in the instruction, supervision, and training of students.
  • Assist in creating a trauma-informed learning environment that promotes student engagement, classroom management, and positive behavioral interventions and supports.
  • Contribute to data collection and updates on student progress towards academics.
  • Facilitate age-appropriate interactions, activities, and instruction for all students.
  • Take appropriate action in crisis situations and follow protocol in a calm, collaborative, and reasonable manner.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, making copies, collating, gathering resource information/materials, etc.
  • Prepare and serve meals for students, including breakfast, snack, and lunch.
  • Cleanup and organization of all areas of the campus, including classrooms, lunchroom, library, bathrooms, and storage spaces.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Criminal Record Clearance, TB clearance, and COVID-19 vaccine before hire.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (supplies).
  • Walking with students.
  • Prolonged sitting and working on a computer and telephone.
