Role Summary:

The substitute educator at Faith Bible Christian School is tasked with exemplifying, upholding, and promoting the institution's mission of nurturing Christ-like character, encouraging academic excellence, and preparing students to serve others through a Biblical lens. In the absence of the regular instructor, the substitute educator is accountable for maintaining a learning environment that aligns with the school's dedication to fostering academic growth, inspiring critical and Biblical thinking, and guiding students to lead lives that reflect their faith.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to: Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a close, personal relationship with the Lord and serve as a credible Christian role model in all interactions.
  • Support and adhere to the school's Statement of Faith.
  • Possess Biblical knowledge and integrate Scripture into the curriculum to cultivate a Biblical worldview.
  • Establish and enforce classroom behavior standards.
  • Prepare lesson plans and educational projects to achieve learning objectives.
  • Clearly communicate learning goals for lessons and projects.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Encourage students to explore various learning opportunities and career options.
  • Create, assign, and evaluate student assessments, including tests and projects.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students requiring additional assistance.
  • Monitor and assess student academic performance.
  • Facilitate parent-teacher conferences.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Manage student behavior effectively.
  • Develop a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents.
  • Assist students in enhancing their study techniques and habits.
  • Administer assessments to gauge student progress.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong active listening skills to understand and adapt to students' diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of educational psychology and learning strategies.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
