Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
- Provide education and coaching to patients and families with complex needs
- Prescribe and recommend pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions within scope of practice
- Lead and facilitate coordinated care for individuals and populations to improve healthcare outcomes
- Act as a clinical resource and educator for nurses and other team members
- Develop and implement evidence-based policies, procedures, and best practice models
- Advocate for equitable healthcare and participate in professional organizations and public policy initiatives
- Provide leadership in nursing clinical practice and cultivate a practice environment that promotes mutual respect, communication, and collaboration
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited CNS program
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact state
- Current APRN licensure in Virginia for CNS
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum five (5) years nursing experience in psychiatric nursing
- Ability to manage administrative and leadership tasks while providing excellent patient care
- Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Doctorate in Nursing
- Certification in specialty area
- Experience in an Academic Medical Center, 2 years within an inpatient psychiatric setting
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials. May have periods of constant interruptions. Prolonged periods of working alone.
