Overview:

The Emissions Lab Technician is responsible for conducting comprehensive emission evaluations on vehicles, which includes assessing exhaust emissions, performing road tests, and executing various tests within a controlled climatic environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the precision and reliability of test outcomes, managing both physical and digital test data, and communicating all findings to the Emissions Lab Manager for further analysis and feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular driving tests using a dynamometer, requiring specialized training.
  • Engage in desk work or operate test vehicles as needed.
  • Occasionally perform physical activities such as walking, standing, or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications:

This is an entry-level opportunity aimed at individuals eager to learn and pursue a career in the automotive sector. Candidates with 1-3 years of experience in the automotive industry are preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications at a basic to intermediate level.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Recent experience in the automotive field.
  • Strong command of the English language.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of emission testing methodologies.
  • Formal training in customer service.
  • Extensive diagnostic experience with Volkswagen and/or Audi vehicles, including the use of VAS testers.
  • Proficiency in German and/or Spanish.
  • Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications.

Education:

A High School Diploma is required.

Work Schedule:

This position requires flexibility with work hours, operating on two shifts: 6 AM – 3 PM and 3 PM – 12 AM, with a mandatory PM shift for half of the year. Candidates must be open to working both shifts and may occasionally be required to work on Saturdays or overtime.
