Job Title: Account Manager/Outside Sales

At Airgas, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager/Outside Sales professional to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with our customers, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent Airgas products and services to new and existing customers, demonstrating a deep understanding of our offerings and their applications.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate new accounts and expand existing relationships, resulting in increased sales and margin profit.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and Airgas, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Research and analyze market data to identify new business opportunities, trends, and competitor activity, informing sales strategies and tactics.
  • Prepare and present sales reports to management, highlighting key metrics, sales performance, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain current product knowledge through participation in company-sponsored training and industry events.
  • Collaborate with Area Sales Managers to develop and implement market plans and sales strategies for assigned territories.
  • Ensure sales objectives are met within established budgets, controlling expenses to meet and stay within budget.
  • Complete all reports and administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Two years of outside sales experience, preferably in the compressed gas industry.
  • Self-motivated individual with demonstrated positive interpersonal skills, well organized, and focused on customer needs.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and/or the Google Kite Business Platform (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
  • Professional presence and demeanor that reflects a corporate image.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, and solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
