About the Role

As a Certified Medication Assistant at Genesis Healthcare LLC, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our patients. Under the direction of a licensed nurse, you will be responsible for preparing and administering routine and PRN medications, maintaining medication supplies, and performing accurate vital sign monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and administer medications to patients as prescribed by physicians and document administration per policy.
  • Maintain medication supplies, clean and restock medicine carts and medicine rooms.
  • Notify pharmacies of new medication orders and refills.
  • Perform accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Successful completion of a state-approved medication aide training course
  • Completion of a state-approved certified nursing assistant training program
  • One year of experience as a certified nursing assistant
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to ensure patient safety and well-being
