Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant - Wound Care Specialist

Restore First Health is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team as a Wound Care Specialist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our wound care program.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant - Wound Care Specialist will work under the direction of the Practice Manager and Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality patient care and support the wound care team. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, height, and weight, as needed.
  • Assist with positioning patients for treatment, prepare and drape the field for amniotic allograft placement, and assist with dressing changes.
  • Coordinate wound care procedures, including wound debridement, and assist with recording treatment in the electronic medical record.
  • Help with patient and family education, and demonstrate competency and skills to serve patients of all ages.
  • Operate a company vehicle, obeying all traffic laws and posted speed limits, and adhere to Restore First Health's policy on operating the company vehicle.
  • Manage wound documentation and supply per patient need, inventory and replenish all wound supplies, and assist with completion of WCR orders in collaboration with the provider.
  • Work with the Practice Manager to manage daily wound visits and consultation schedules, while optimizing driving routes.
  • Call patients the day prior and while enroute to confirm appointments and approximate arrival times, and manage wound visit schedule in the EMR.
Requirements:
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving history
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and graduation from a Certified Medical Assistant program
  • Two years of medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting, preferably with wound care
  • Knowledge of basic office skills and operation of office equipment, including typing, copier, fax machine, computer, and computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

This role will be based in Northern New Jersey, with the ability to commute or relocate before starting work.

  • Vital signs: 1 year (preferred)
License/Certification:
