Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Stepdown team at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. As a Cardiac Stepdown RN, you will provide high-quality patient care to patients with cardiac conditions, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients' physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social, and educational needs, documenting patient/family responses to nursing interventions.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, including discharge plans, based on standards of nursing practice, health center policy, and patient/family needs.
  • Guide and direct patient care activities, utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide daily direction and guidance to Nurse Assistants.
  • Facilitate and implement learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of patients/families, assessing learning needs and formulating and initiating teaching plans.
  • Effectively communicate pertinent patient changes/conditions to colleagues and multidisciplinary caregivers.
  • Attend and participate in departmental/organizational meetings, in-services, and educational opportunities.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa or qualified multi-state license required.
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Previous experience in acute care preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
