Overview
The Chief Executive Officer will hold full accountability for the overall Profit and Loss (P&L) management, encompassing Global Operations and Business Development/Marketing. This role involves directing, coordinating, and implementing strategies within a Private Equity (PE) Held matrix organization, focusing on worldwide business intelligence, development, and strategic initiatives aligned with overarching business objectives. The CEO will ensure the attainment of growth, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and articulate the business case and strategy aimed at expanding the global business footprint by leveraging market intelligence and crafting a comprehensive business plan to achieve ambitious industrial market growth targets. Develop strategic and tactical plans, including investment considerations, to support this strategy and ensure execution across all regions and product lines.
- Analyze existing practices and procedures, conducting research to identify and implement best practices that facilitate growth. Perform gap analyses and collaborate with regional business units to adopt these practices globally, driving growth initiatives.
- Identify and assess opportunities within global markets, emphasizing market expansion and penetration, particularly in high-growth areas such as refurbishing, retrofitting upgrades, remote diagnostics, and process consultation, while delivering comprehensive customer solutions in the Life Sciences sector. Conduct market sizing and financial analyses to quantify potential growth and profitability.
- Design and implement an organizational structure that supports new product solutions and aftermarket activities, including talent acquisition and development. Collaborate with regional management to identify talent gaps and create development plans to address these needs.
- Identify necessary improvements in processes, systems, and infrastructure to support the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) strategy. Work closely with regional management to transition from current practices to new strategic directions.
- Determine customer service requirements by maintaining close contact with Project Managers and clients, visiting operational environments, benchmarking best practices, and analyzing relevant information.
- Develop a comprehensive business plan and establish global sales targets alongside a management control system to monitor orders, sales, and profits. Regularly publish performance reports and action plans as needed.
- Enhance quality outcomes by monitoring and analyzing results, implementing necessary changes, identifying customer service trends, and driving system improvements. Strengthen the Marketing Organization by creating an annual continuous improvement plan aligned with organizational strategy, establishing both short and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and operational procedures.
- Engage in special corporate projects as required.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Technology Officer to formulate a global product management strategy.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Management (or equivalent) is required, with an MBA preferred. Candidates should possess 10-15 years of experience in P&L management, manufacturing, and sales and marketing leadership within the Life Sciences or Industrial-Technology sectors. A proven track record of developing a global business for a company with revenues exceeding $150M in both domestic and international markets is essential. Prior experience with P&L responsibilities focusing on revenue, expenses, and margins is necessary. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and an effective communicator at all organizational levels, including interactions with Board of Directors and Investors.
