Communicative Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Communicative Care Specialist to join our team at Norman Regional Health System. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of diverse patient populations.
About the PositionIn this position, you will be responsible for assessing and establishing individualized therapy plans to support patients with various communication needs. You will utilize standard speech therapy techniques, educate patients and their families, and promote rehabilitation services through community engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and develop personalized care plans.
- Speech Therapy Programs: Implement evidence-based therapy programs using standardized speech therapy techniques suitable for each patient's age and abilities.
- Clinical Documentation: Accurately document the delivery of Speech Therapy services.
- Education and Community Outreach: Educate patients, family members, caregivers, and significant others about speech therapy techniques and promote physical rehabilitation services through community-based activities.
- Professional Development: Participate in continuing education and professional conferences, and provide in-service training to staff upon return.
- Educational Background: Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting, particularly in dysphagia care and Medicare documentation, is highly desirable.
- Licensure and Certification: Current Oklahoma license for Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility for a temporary license. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is required, with completion within the first year under a licensed therapist as a CFY.
