Job Title: Registered Behavioral Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Behavioral Technician to join our team at Leavenworth Unified School District 453.

Job Summary:

The Registered Behavioral Technician will provide skills, instruction, and behavior reduction protocols based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with autism, serious emotional disabilities, and other developmental disabilities in the school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct student instruction and assist staff with implementation in one-on-one and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment teaching arrangements.
  • Follow prescribed behavior skills acquisition and behavior change protocols.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior.
  • Assist with skill acquisition and behavioral assessments.
  • Document interventions, progress data, and session notes.
  • Assist with staff training of student individualized treatment and behavior change protocols.
  • Communicate with staff regarding student progress as instructed by the BCBA.
  • Collaborate with school teams and attend IEP meetings as necessary.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, special education, or related field preferred.
  • Two years' experience in a school setting, working with students with behavior challenges (including students with Autism, SED, and other developmental disabilities).
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to enter data into a computer, to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without visual aids.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors, and on the telephone.
  • Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone.
  • Ability to travel within the district.
  • Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk, and reach overhead.
General Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan and Emergency Safety Interventions (ESI).
