About the Role:

As a Recreation/Activity Therapist II at Saint John Hospital, you will be responsible for conducting a therapeutic recreation program within the hospital to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically and mentally disabled.

The ideal candidate will direct patient participation in selected activities such as games, social activities, sports or music to create an atmosphere of sociability, to provide a means of creative expression and to facilitate the learning skills for recreating during hospitalization and after discharge in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a therapeutic recreation program that meets the needs of patients with physical and mental disabilities.
  • Direct patient participation in activities such as games, social activities, sports or music to promote sociability and creative expression.
  • Facilitate learning skills for recreating during hospitalization and after discharge in the community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field.
  • Minimum one year experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative or SNF setting preferred.
