Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Residential Aide and Crisis Intervention Specialist at our Manhattan shelter. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients, staff, and facility.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in security, crisis intervention, and residential settings. They will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with client intakes and initial assessments
  • Monitor client behavior and provide support as needed
  • Document incidents, interventions, and other relevant information
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean and organized storage area for client property
  • Respond promptly and effectively to crises and emergency situations

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior security experience preferred
  • NYS Security Guard License, 8 Hour Annual Certificate, and Fire Guard License for Shelters (F-02) required
  • Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary
