Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist Specimen Processor PRN to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory functions to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct phlebotomy procedures and process specimens
  • Access and distribute specimens
  • Perform and result specific test procedures
  • Support departmental goals and objectives
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of phlebotomy course preferred
  • Current license or trainee license in the state of practice preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of venipuncture procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced laboratory environment with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to sit for prolonged periods and travel throughout and between facilities.
