Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMT Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Department at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our nursing staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients for any acute changes and communicate such changes to primary RN or physician.
  • Assist with procedures and patient care activities at the request of the ED physician and in accordance with ED policy.
  • Establish and maintain peripheral IV access.
  • Administer medications and fluids within scope of licensure and ED policy.
  • Obtain medical history, check vital signs, and advise/inform physician of diagnostic indication.
  • Transport critical patients to and from areas of the hospital while monitoring for any acute changes.
Requirements
  • Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
  • Certified in CPR - Basic Rescue by either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association.
  • Valid driver license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of experience in an urban EMS service integrated with a municipal first response system.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

Work is considered medium. Position requires work in a patient care/emergency room environment.
