Job Summary

This position requires the ability to drive a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). The ideal candidate will have a Class A commercial driver's license and be able to load and unload vehicles as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds GVWR.
  • Load and unload vehicles as required.
  • Inspect vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.
  • Secure cargo for transport.
  • Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle.
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
  • Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources.
  • Operate equipment, such as truck cab computer, cellular phones, driver cameras, GPS equipment.
  • Load or unload trucks or help other with loading or unloading.
  • Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices.
Requirements
  • Class A commercial driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and relay written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as calculators, or scanners.
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
  • Knowledgeable about company's products and services, and customer-related policies.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be in adequate physical condition to perform requirements such as mental, physical and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
Other Requirements
  • Successfully pass a DOT drug test as requested, a DOT physical capacity assessment, a background and motor vehicle check.
  • Must maintain a valid commercial driver's license and driving record that meets the organization safe driving standards.
