Radiology Technologist Level II Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Level II to join our team in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist Level II to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Administrative Director and the supervision of the Lead Technologist to perform a variety of technical procedures as directed by a physician, servicing patients of all ages and requiring independent judgment to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Work under the general direction of the Administrative Director and the supervision of the Lead Technologist.
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures as directed by a physician, servicing patients of all ages.
  • Apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis, requiring independent judgment.
  • Provide patient care and education essential in the performance of procedures, recognizing patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiating life support measures.
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency equipment location and code alert procedures.
  • Ensure that Emergency cart supplies are present and current.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures, demonstrating anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning and technique selection and evaluates radiographs for technical quality.
  • Assist physicians with imaging procedures and administration of contrast media.
  • Advises/acts as a resource for Rad I staff with regard to image quality.
  • Oversee daily patient throughput in the absence of RAD III; effectively utilize departmental resources.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience.
  • CPR/BLS required.
  • Completion of formal radiological technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
  • Active Massachusetts (DPH) license to perform radiography.
