Radiology Technologist Level II Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Level II to join our team in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist Level II to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Administrative Director and the supervision of the Lead Technologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures as directed by a physician, servicing patients of all ages and requiring independent judgment to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.
  • Provide diagnostic radiographic services for patients of all ages, applying principles of radiation protection and according to department policy and procedure.
  • Contribute positively to meeting departmental goals, including a retake analysis of ≤5% by achieving a personal goal of ≤4%.
  • Process all patient requests in EPIC and required MGH information systems.
  • Focus on timely completion of patient processing to optimize results reporting from MGH Teleradiology.
  • Provide patient care and education essential in the performance of procedures, recognizing patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiating life support measures.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures, demonstrating anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning and technique selection and evaluates radiographs for technical quality.
  • Assist physicians with imaging procedures and administration of contrast media.
  • Advises/acts as a resource for Rad I staff with regard to image quality.
  • Oversee daily patient throughput in the absence of RAD III; effectively utilize departmental resources.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience.
  • CPR/BLS required.
  • Completion of formal radiological technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
  • Active Massachusetts (DPH) license to perform radiography.
Working Conditions

The Radiology Technologist Level II will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
