Government Audit Specialist

Hire Resolve's client, a reputable CPA firm, is seeking an experienced Government Audit Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the audit team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the transparency, accountability, and compliance of government entities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of government entities to assess compliance with laws, regulations, and policies
  • Evaluate internal controls to identify risks and weaknesses and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Review financial statements and records to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Assess the use of public funds and resources to ensure accountability and value for money
  • Analyze government programs and initiatives to assess their effectiveness and impact
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations for management and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with government officials, auditees, and other stakeholders throughout the audit process
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in government auditing
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA
  • Proven experience in government auditing within a CPA firm
  • Strong knowledge of government audit standards, regulations, and practices
  • Experience with auditing software and financial management systems used in the public sector
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with high levels of accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Understanding of government structures, policies, and processes
