Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at Mental Health Systems. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing assessment, treatment planning, and individual and group counseling services to clients struggling with substance use disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including ASAM assessments, level of care assessments, and diagnostic determinations to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services, including crisis intervention and collateral services, to support clients in their recovery journey.
  • Document client progress and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with agency, federal, state, and local government standards.
  • Collaborate with clients' family members and significant others to support their loved ones in the recovery process.
  • Facilitate placement and transportation services as needed to ensure clients receive the support they need.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participate in scheduled program meetings and contribute to the development of effective treatment plans.
Qualifications
  • SUD Certification from a recognized board or registration with a recognized board and active pursuit of an alcohol and drug certification.
  • Valid California driver's license and current auto insurance, as required by contract.
  • Experience providing substance use disorder services, with a strong understanding of cultural competency and bilingual skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

  • Seeing, hearing, speaking, stooping, bending, working in cramped spaces, moving between offices and clients, driving, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, dragging, standing for long periods, working outside, using hands and fingers, and sitting for long periods.
