Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the W Fort Lauderdale hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving business growth. This role requires a strong leader who can inspire and motivate the team to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive revenue growth and improve profitability.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure individual and team success.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop revenue-generating strategies and identify new business leads.
  • Verify that sales and marketing strategies are aligned with brand strategy and effectively executed against established goals.
  • Build strong relationships with property owners, local officials, businesses, and customers to drive business growth and loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, operations, labor, and Marriott brand product and service standards.
Requirements
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 8 years' experience in the management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area.
  • OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 6 years' experience in the management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area.
  • General Manager experience in limited or full-service property.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and late nights.
  • Property industry work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
Benefits

Marriott International offers a competitive salary range of $223,000 to $299,000 annually, a bonus program, comprehensive health care benefits, 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match, employee stock purchase plan at 15% discount, accrued paid time off (including sick leave where applicable), life insurance, group disability insurance, travel discounts, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, health savings account (except for positions based out of or performed in Hawaii), flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, pre-tax commuter benefits, other life and work wellness benefits, and may include other incentives such as stock awards and deferred compensation plans.
