POSITION OVERVIEW

The Creative Arts Educator will play a pivotal role in nurturing the educational environment, culture, and development of our afterschool program. This individual will be deeply committed to working with children and fellow educators, facilitating a variety of engaging, Hebrew-infused learning experiences.

Essential Qualifications:

Curriculum Development
  • Design and implement art-based activities and lesson plans tailored for the afterschool program.
  • Create art projects suitable for various age groups and learning styles.
  • Incorporate Hebrew language elements into the art curriculum and lessons.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the program and its curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Jewish Learning to ensure lesson plans meet educational objectives.
Student Engagement
  • Directly support students and enhance all facets of the afterschool program.
  • Adhere to individualized plans for students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the JCC Association and possess knowledge or a willingness to learn about Jewish community values and traditions.
  • Assist with parent communication and various administrative tasks.
  • Participate in outreach and marketing efforts for the program and the JCC Association.
  • Bring background experience in Jewish education and arts education.
  • Fluency in Hebrew (native or strong proficiency).
  • Experience in a childcare environment or similar setting.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Arts, or a related discipline.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate organizational abilities and develop effective plans to achieve program goals.
  • Capable of leading a classroom of children.
  • Work collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable sitting on the floor and chairs, with the ability to rise quickly.
  • Ability to bend to assist children as needed.
  • Capable of navigating confined spaces to assist children with personal needs.
  • Responsive to the immediate needs of young children.
Professional Development
  • Engage in collaborative learning and peer observation to enhance personal skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development focused on knowledge enrichment and inclusivity.
COMPENSATION

Salary Range:

$35,000 - $45,000
