Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $150,000 annually.

Position Summary:
The Wastewater Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational functions of the Hyperion Project Operations. This includes managing production, treatment, transmission, distribution, system maintenance, monitoring, and facilities management to ensure the delivery of high-quality water at a reasonable cost. The role requires adherence to all Veolia, governmental, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance with regulations. The manager will lead the development and execution of both annual and strategic operating plans, while also achieving financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational success of assigned departments, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations in line with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Foster positive relationships with employees, regulatory bodies, customers, and community leaders.
  • Guide major operational areas including:
    • Production: Manage the operation and maintenance of facilities that supply, treat, and deliver water in compliance with drinking water regulations.
    • Transmission and Distribution: Ensure the effective operation and maintenance of water mains, valves, and associated facilities.
    • Meter Reading and Field Service: Oversee the planning and scheduling of meter reading tasks, ensuring efficient service delivery.
    • IT/GIS: Manage computerized systems including SCADA and GIS for operational efficiency.
    • Water Quality: Ensure compliance with all water quality regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Lead the adoption and enhancement of Operational Technology systems.
  • Participate in the preparation and management of annual and strategic plans for assigned departments.
  • Deliver financial results in accordance with established budgets.
  • Engage in rate case strategy development and serve as an expert witness as required.
  • Investigate operational issues and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure effective training and development of staff to maintain high performance standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety training protocols.

Work Environment:
Employees must be able to work in an office setting for extended periods and travel to various meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Skills and Abilities:
Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of financial management, and the ability to plan strategically. A solid understanding of water supply and treatment operations, customer service, and engineering principles is essential. Proficiency in using data for decision-making and effective communication skills are also required.

Certifications:
Grade V in Waste/Wastewater certification is required.
