We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Building Science Summer Intern to join our team at BranchPattern. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in building performance analysis using simulation software to assess energy efficiency, daylighting, thermal comfort, and other sustainability metrics.
  • Support the commissioning process by participating in system verification, functional performance testing, and documentation reviews.
  • Conduct research on sustainable building materials, energy codes, and emerging green technologies to support project recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of reports and presentations for clients, summarizing building performance findings and sustainability strategies.
  • Participate in site visits to assess building systems, including HVAC, lighting, and envelope performance, and support in preparing commissioning plans and checklists.
  • Collaborate with team members on LEED, WELL, and other green building certification projects, helping with documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Analyze and interpret building performance data to assist in identifying energy-saving opportunities and recommending solutions.
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in sustainability, green building practices, and energy efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
