The Strategic Risk Control Specialist plays a crucial role in safeguarding the County's assets and employees. Main Responsibilities:- Risk Management Leadership: Supervise staff responsible for conducting performance evaluations, approving time off, assigning work, staff training, and development.
- Operational Management: Prepare, recommend, monitor, and administer division budgets. Identify opportunities for improvement, implement new programs, and oversee software system selection.
- Risk Analysis & Insurance Oversight: Manage County Property, Casualty, and Liability Coverage. Partner with insurance brokers, stakeholders, and ensure all risks are addressed. Conduct risk analysis, assess probability and severity of potential losses, and negotiate insurance claims.
- Safety Management Programs: Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Oversee countywide evacuation plans, accident prevention/control, and investigations. Develop safety training and serve as a primary contact for workplace violence situations.
- Security Programs for County Buildings: Maintain expert knowledge of security systems. Manage staff responsible for administering camera systems, building access, and after-hours security contracts.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (risk management, insurance, business administration).
- Five years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Valid driver's license issued by the state of residency.
- One or more designations: ARM - Associate in Risk Management, ARMP - Associate Risk Management Professional, CRM - Certified Risk Manager, CPCU - Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.
