Key Responsibilities of a Bookseller:
  • Assist customers in locating books, recommending similar authors or titles, and ensuring they find the right book.
  • Organize and shelve books according to operational standards and promotional priorities.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organization, including dusting, sweeping, and straightening merchandise.
  • Communicate any inventory issues to management promptly.
  • Utilize available resources and peer knowledge to enhance training and expertise.
  • Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Follow Loss Prevention procedures to minimize shrinkage.
  • Stay informed about surrounding businesses within the facility.
  • Maintain consistent attendance.

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to engage with diverse personalities and build rapport with team members and customers.
  • A genuine love for reading and discussing literature.
  • Proficiency in cash register operations and basic computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Physical stamina to be on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Prior experience in cashiering or cash handling is essential.
