Position Overview:

At NorthBay Health, as a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Prep Area Unit, you will deliver safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care to patients, adhering to Jean Watson's Theory of Caring and the principles of Relationship-Based Care. Your role will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for all patients under your supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to enhance health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
  • Demonstrate the NorthBay Way principles, which emphasize Caring, Communication, Collaboration, and Competence in daily practice.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited professional registered nursing program.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher is mandatory (excluding grandfathered employees).

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid, current, and unencumbered RN license issued by the State of California.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
  • Telemetry certification must be obtained within three months of employment.

Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of two years of experience (five years preferred) in an acute care environment, specifically in medical-surgical nursing.
  • Proficient in delivering skilled nursing care to surgical patients.
  • Ability to interpret arrhythmias accurately.
  • Adapt care delivery to meet the unique needs of patients across all age groups, from infants to geriatrics, within the perioperative departments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

Additional Information:

  • Compliance with the professional appearance policy requires all RNs in the Patient Care Services Department to wear Graphite (Dark Gray) scrubs.

Compensation Details:

  • Hourly salary range starting at a minimum of $ and going up to $87.53, with the offered rate based on years of experience.
  • A 15% differential is available for both external and internal applicants with Per Diem status.
  • Additional generous shift differentials include a Night Differential of $9.80 per hour and an Evening Differential of $6.60 per hour.
