Position Summary

The Financial Counselor plays a crucial role in assisting patients with their financial responsibilities. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting daily reviews of patient census and proactively engaging with patients to inform them of their estimated financial obligations.
  • Utilizing approved communication strategies to request payments and issuing follow-up correspondence for patients not encountered during their stay.
  • Managing patient inquiries, whether in-person or via phone, by assessing eligibility for financial assistance, processing payments, establishing payment plans, or referring to the appropriate Eligibility Vendor.
  • Resolving financial issues promptly to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Performing bi-weekly assessments of obstetric patients to ensure collection of estimated dues prior to delivery.
  • Responding to electronic communications within a 24-hour timeframe.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation of all account-related activities, including research on previous accounts.
  • Promoting teamwork and delivering exceptional experiences for patients and guests.
  • Upholding standards of patient safety and quality care.
Qualifications

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Education:
High School diploma is required.

Experience:
A minimum of two years in a medical office environment and two years of customer service experience are required. Proficiency in computer skills is essential.

Additional Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is necessary.
