Credit Specialist Job Description

The Credit Specialist is a critical role within Southeast LBM Holdco LLC, responsible for ensuring the company's cash flow and financial stability. This position involves collecting past-due accounts, monitoring customer creditworthiness, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Account Collection: Collect past-due accounts through mailings, phone calls, faxes, internet, and collection agencies or legal counsel when necessary.
  • Credit Monitoring: Continuously monitor customer creditworthiness and make necessary decisions to put customers on hold shipments status.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts receivable aging, tracking payments received, and outstanding accounts.
  • Reporting: Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Credit Manager on the condition of the aged accounts receivable, projecting estimated collections for the month, and alerting to potential bad debts.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical skills to analyze customer creditworthiness and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of Credit Laws: Have knowledge of all appropriate credit laws and regulations.
  • Minimum 2+ Years of Credit Experience: Possess a minimum of 2+ years of credit experience in a similar role.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.

Work Environment: This role is based in a fast-paced office environment with frequent interactions with customers and colleagues.
